Sam Pask : Proprietor
Up to my elbows in dishes at the local restaurant was my start in hospitality as a teenager in New Zealand. For more than 20 years now I have been ‘up to my elbows’ in the industry, enjoying many of the experiences that hospitality has provided. I have met some great people and have worked in a colourful array of restaurants, hotels, clubs, my own café and just before starting Selah, the acclaimed Quay restaurant.
It was with this experience gained that I opened Selah in May 2003. The name Selah is an ancient Hebrew musical term meaning ‘to pause’. The concept has always been to provide Sydney locals and visitors to Sydney with a relaxed dining experience, a pause, in one of the busiest and most vibrant cities in the world. We have always been proud to serve superb food and well priced local and international wines. Friendly yet professional service with a decor that is warm, earthy and inviting.
The menu and the style of dining has always aimed at catering to a variety of diners. People dining for different occasions: business, pleasure or the sheer convenience of having a local in the city. You might be at Selah for a long lunch or a quick meal before a show; maybe the whole three course dining experience with some old friends or just stopping in for a steak and a soothing glass of red wine on the way home from a busy day at work.
Whatever the occasion, we hope you enjoy dining at Selah.
